During the loading process Jockey Strydom injured his foot, which had to be attended to by the paramedics. Thereafter HYPERACTIVE was stubborn loading and was subsequently withdrawn by the Starter. This caused a delay to the start of this Race. The starting stalls certificate for this gelding has been withdrawn. In view of the Starter's report with regard to HYPERACTIVE, this gelding was suspended for a period of 7 days and until such time as it proves tractable loading in the starting stalls on a race day with a companion. HYPERACTIVE may not be presented for repassing during this period. MISSION CONTROL shifted both ways away from the crop from the 400m. SECRET HARBOUR was hanging in from the 200m. At approximately the 100m, CUMBERLAND was brushed by BONO, which shifted out away from the crop and was immediately straightened. A race review was called by a member of the Stipendiary Board, which was followed by an objection being lodged by Trainer Lerena on behalf of the second placed horse, CUMBERLAND, against the winner, BONO, on the grounds of interference and intimidation in the concluding stages. The Objection Board, after reviewing the patrol films of the race and giving regard to the evidence presented by all parties, was of the opinion that this incident had not affected the result of the race and therefore overruled the objection and allowed the judge's result to stand. Trainer Lerena's deposit was refunded. BONO was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. BONO was ridden by Jockey Marwing. Jockey Marwing signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined for a contravention in that he failed to weigh out at the correct carded weight on the horse BONO, or at the higher weight confirmed in his engagement with the Trainer.
