The start of the 6th Race was slightly delayed due to the previous race delays as well as the Veterinary Surgeon having to examine CAPTAIN OF ROCK at the start before loading could commence. Declared fit to race. MASTER OF MISCHIEF and FLYING SILVER were selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. ALAADEL (AUS) was hanging in, in the straight. CAPTAIN OF ROCK was hanging out, shifted out carrying MIDNIGHT VISION outwards at approximately the 250 metre mark. Jockey Marcus reported CAPTAIN OF ROCK coughing post race. Jockey de Melo reported that he felt something amiss with ROY'S STRIKE FORCE in running. HEAD HONCHO appeared to take no interest and had to be vigorously encouraged to hold his position on the bend. In view of the performances of HEAD HONCHO and MIDNIGHT VISION, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine these horses. Jockey Randolph signed an Admission of Guilt for a contravention in that, as the rider of MIDNIGHT VISION, he was unable to weigh out at the carded weight as confirmed in his engagement with the trainer resulting in a change of rider. Vet: CAPTAIN OF ROCK - severe coughing. ROY'S STRIKE FORCE and HEAD HONCHO - nothing obvious detected. MIDNIGHT VISION - coughing.
