Fair start. At the exit of the chute, leaving the parade ring, Jockey Mbhele was dislodged from ELAMORE without incident. PINK TOURMALINE (A Marcus), which raced green, was squeezed out shortly after the start. SACHA (G Cheyne) and NDIKHALELE (C Zackey) brushed shortly after the start. Shortly after the start, Jockey S Mbhele eased ELAMORE out of the race. On returning to the unsaddling enclosure, Jockey Mbhele reported his saddle had slipped back in running, which was confirmed by the course veterinary surgeon, he became unbalanced and, as a consequence, could not assist this filly. Jockey Mbhele appeared before the Board and, after viewing the video evidence, it was confirmed that his saddle had slipped back in running. LADY ISABELLA (*X Jacobs) raced wide on the bend. Leaving the 300m, SACHA (G Cheyne) was momentarily inconvenienced on the inside of KAROO WINTER (K de Melo), which shifted in sharply and was immediately straightened. MARINA, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer C Bass-Robinson was advised.
