GIN FIZZ AND CAVIVAR WERE STUBBORN LOADING. THIS LED TO A DELAY TO THE START OF THIS RACE. GIN FIZZ (C Murray) was stubborn loading. Assistant Trainer A Ndzilana, acting on behalf of Trainer M F de Kock, was advised to reschool this filly prior to her next engagement (LS). CAVIVAR (W Kennedy) was stubborn loading. Trainer S G Tarry was advised to reschool this filly prior to her next engagement (LS). DUE DILIGENCE (*K Matsunyane) was slow into stride. CHE BELLA (*P Mxoli) shifted both ways away from the crop from the 300m. WAR OF ATHENA (S Khumalo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer P F Matchett advised (GF). Jockey S Khumalo was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that he struck WAR OF ATHENA more than twelve times in the entire race. Jockey S Khumalo signed an Admission of Guilt and a fine of R1000 was imposed. When assessing this penalty, the Board took into consideration the number of times the crop was used (16) and the fact that he won the race.
