CHARTER JET pulled its right front shoe en-route to the start which was attended to by the course farrier. This caused a delay to the start of this race. GATEWAY TO HEAVEN and RIVER RUN were slow into stride. THREE KINGDOMS lost two lengths. Jockey Strydom reported that SHELLY made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. Shortly before the finish line, RIVER RUN (J Penny) had to steady to avoid running onto the heels of SHELLY, which rolled in. LEBANESE TRACTOR was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: SHELLY - abnormal respiratory noise. Scratched: PRIDE OF BARBADOS - lame left front. The course farrier on duty did not report there to be anything amiss with the shoes fitted to the horses that raced at today's race meeting. The passports of all the runners that raced at today's race meeting were checked and their identities, AHS and Equine Influenza vaccinations confirmed.
