The start of this Race was delayed due to the withdrawal of STRAWBERRY GIRL and PROFS PET having to be re-saddled. BOXLEY was slow away and lost 2 lengths. COVER PAGE dislodged Apprentice Hewitson in the starting stalls, injured the rider and was withdrawn for further delaying the start. This filly is to be re-schooled in the starting stalls prior to racing again. NIMBLE brushed the inside running rail at the 800 metre mark. Jockey van der Merwe reported that MASGEGEDE made an abnormal respiratory noise in the running. BOXLEY was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Apprentice Hewitson was stood down by the Course Medical Officer after the running of this race with a back injury. Vet: BOXLEY - abnormal respiratory noise. MASGEGEDE and SING AND DANCE - coughed post race. Scratched: CHESTNUT'S HALO and PARTY COUNTESS - no transport. STRAWBERRY GIRL - not striding out, withdrawn by the Course Veterinary Surgeon at the start. COVER PAGE - dislodged rider in the starting stalls, withdrawn by the Course Veterinary Surgeon at the start.
