Before the start of the Race Meeting the distances of Races 5 and 6 were changed from 2000m to 1900m due to a wet patch at the 2000m. All the Trainers with runners in Races 5 and 6 were advised in due time. EMPERORS TRACTOR cast the right fore shoe on the way to the start which the farrier replaced. MAHIR jumped awkwardly inwards and squeezed out LOVE HAPPENS, which lost one length. HOOVES OF THUNDER and COUNT NU were slow losing one length. In view of the performance from MANAFTERMIDNIGHT, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine the gelding on its return to the unsaddling enclosure and submit a report. FAKE NEWS raced green and was hanging out throughout. HOOVES OF THUNDER, KOSHKA and SIR CAPERS raced green. TRUE WORDS and SEVENTH RULE were selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: MANAFTERMIDNIGHT - inspected post race and no significant findings were detected. MAHIR - returned making an abnormal respiratory noise.
