Jockey Khumalo reported that he felt something amiss with ESCAMILLO in running. Jockey Simons reported that MASTER SWORD made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. In the concluding stages, SO LONG SPRING was bumped in by VACQUERO, which shifted in away from the crop from the 150m. A member of the Stipendiary Board called a race review into this incident, which was followed by an objection being lodged by Trainer Zackey, the trainer of the second placed horse, SO LONG SPRING, against VACQUERO being declared the winner on the grounds of interference in the concluding stages. After reviewing the patrol films of the race and hearing the evidence put forward by the parties, the Objection Board was satisfied that this incident had not affected the result of the race and therefore overruled the objection and allowed the judges' result to stand. Trainer Zackey's deposit was refunded. An inquiry will be opened into Jockey Yeni's riding of VACQUERO in the concluding stages of the race. VACQUERO and SO LONG SPRING were selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. ROCKING ROMEO raced without a tongue tie. Vet: LLANDUDNO - mild post race distress. ESCAMILLO - not striding out left front. MASTER SWORD - abnormal respiratory noise.
