The start of this Race was delayed due to WARRIOR POET and GOLDEN SHAMROCK breaking through the front gates during loading, the other runners were all unloaded and when WARRIOR POET and GOLDEN SHAMROCK returned, they were declared fit to race by the Course Veterinary Surgeon and all the horses were reloaded. BRUCE'S BEAUTY, BUCK EYE and HANDSOME HENRY (AUS) were slow into stride. HEIR TO RICHES was slow away and lost 3 lengths. RULE THE WORLD was pulling in the early stages. RULE THE WORLD changed stride and rolled inwards entering the home straight and BUCK EYE became cramped for galloping room from this movement. Jockey Steyn appeared before the Board regarding this incident and he was advised to ensure that he takes more care when shifting ground in future. BRUCE'S BEAUTY was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: WARRIOR POET - scratched front of nose. SEATTLE DRAGON - coughed post race and made an abnormal respiratory noise. BRAVE ENDEAVOUR - coughed post race. GOLDEN SHAMROCK - broke through front gate, nothing obvious was detected.
