The start of the 7th Race was delayed at the request of the Racing Operator due to a technical fault with the Odds Display. ONE MAN SHOW and TECHNO CAPTAIN were selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. At approximately the 2200 metre mark, TECHNO CAPTAIN racing into the first bend started to hang out and raced awkwardly. At approximately the 2000 metre mark, TECHNO CAPTAIN ducked out sharply towards the outside running rail and only re-joined the field on the inside running rail at approximately the 1800 metre mark. Thereafter TECHNO CAPTAIN over-raced and raced to the front. Trainer Gadsby appeared before the Board with regard to this incident and was advised that should TECHNO CAPTAIN behave in a similar manner in future he may be suspended. In view of the performance of SABRE CHARGE, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. TECHNO CAPTAIN raced fitted with earmuffs. Vet: SABRE CHARGE - nothing obvious detected. Scratched: MUNTAHAA - coughing.
