GATEWAY TO HEAVEN was slow into stride. GOODNESS ME lost one length. THE GREAT DUCHESS was stubborn loading. Trainer Maroun was advised to re-school this mare prior to her next engagement. At approximately the 150m, GOLDEN ATTITUDE had to steady momentarily when awkwardly placed between DANISH CROSS and CATWALK TEASE which shifted out away from the crop. QUEEN AT WAR was hanging in, in the concluding stages. GATEWAY TO HEAVEN took an awkward stride in the concluding stages and thereafter shifted in brushing PROSPERITY. GOODNESS ME was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. When questioned regarding the improved performance of this filly, Trainer Botes explained to the Board that the addition of the blinkers had accounted for the improvement. Mr Botes was advised to race this filly similarly equipped in future. THE GREAT DUCHESS raced without a tongue tie. Vet: DANISH CROSS and GOODNESS ME - coughing. Scratched: ELUSIVE STRIKE - Ineligible, winner Turffontein Racecourse 14 September 2017. The course farrier on duty did not report there to be anything amiss with the shoes fitted to the horses that raced at today's race meeting. The passports of all the runners that raced at today's race meeting were checked and their identities, AHS and Equine Influenza vaccinations confirmed.
