LA SCALA and ROYAL GUARDIANPEAK were slow into stride. MOONEY over-raced in the early stages. KING'S COUNTY was hanging in, in the straight. Jockey Zackey reported that he felt something amiss with HINT OF GOLD (ZIM) in running. At approximately the 350m, IMPERIAL OUNCE was awkwardly placed between LA SCALA, which rolled in marginally, and HINT OF GOLD (ZIM), which was hanging out severely in the straight proving difficult to assist. In the concluding stages, IMPERIAL OUNCE and WOLVES IN WINTER had to ease when awkwardly placed between LA SCALA, which shifted out away from the crop, and WOLVES IN WINTER, which was hanging in. The Board, after reviewing the patrol films of the race, was of the opinion that this was a racing incident and that no blame could be apportioned to any individual rider and therefore took no further action. KING'S COUNTY was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. LESLIES LEGACY raced without a tongue tie. Vet: HINT OF GOLD (ZIM) - mild post race distress and not striding out right front. Scratched: BE THE RIGHT - abnormal temperature.
