PROSPERITY pulled its left front shoe en-route to the start. The course farrier was unable to replace this shoe and was unable to remove the right front shoe, which resulted in PROSPERITY being withdrawn by the Starter. This caused a delay to the start of this Race. As the start was effected, ROYAL VARIETY threw its head down resulting in Apprentice Mjoka becoming dislodged. SINGASWEWIN was restless in the stalls. TIGER'S LEGACY lost three lengths. ROMAN EVENING was slow into stride. A race review was called by a member of the Stipendiary Board into the start of this race. It was established that, with regard Tto WELLSPRING, the handler assigned to this gelding drawn in stall gate 2 had not removed the hood off this horse when the start was effected. This resulted in the horse losing a significant distance. The Board declared this horse to be a non-runner. A race review was called by a member of the Stipendiary Board into the start of this race. This horse was not impeded and the difficulties encountered by this gelding was as a result of this horse's own behaviour and therefore deemed ROYAL VARIETY to be a runner. Jockey Strydom reported that SINGASWEWIN did not stride out freely in running. Jockey Khumalo reported that TIGER'S LEGACY changed stride continually in running. BRIGTNUMBERTEN was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. EXCLUSIVELY TRENDY was ridden by Jockey Khan. An Investigation has been opened into the reason as to why Jockey Habib was unable to fulfil his riding engagement. Vet: TIGER'S LEGACY - not striding out right front. SINGASWEWIN - abrasions right hock from kicking in stalls. HUNTING OWL - coughing. EXCLUSIVELY TRENDY - abnormal respiratory noise. Scratched: GAISCE GOLD - over-reached. AIMEE SWEET - insufficient recovery time. PROSPERITY - intractable. WELLSPRING - declared a non-runner. The course farrier on duty did not report there to be anything amiss with the shoes fitted to the horses that raced at today's race meeting. The passports of all the runners that raced at today's race meeting were checked and their identities, AHS and Equine Influenza vaccinations confirmed.
