The start of this Race was delayed due to BREATHLESS BERTIE being reluctant to proceed to the start and the withdrawal of ORACLE KINGDOM by the Course Veterinary Surgeon. KINGSTON WARREN was stubborn loading and is to be re-schooled in the starting stalls prior to racing again. BREATHLESS BERTIE was slow away. BREATHLESS BERTIE is to be re-schooled on course to parade and proceed to the start to the satisfaction of the SB prior to racing again. ZANZIBAR BEAT over-raced in the early stages. Approaching the turn at the 800 metre mark, VERLAINE ran onto the heels of HERACLES, switched outward and caused ACROSS THE LAKE and RAND HEDGE to become cramped for galloping room and ease, ANGELUS BELL and VARISTAR were carried wide from this movement and BREATHLESS BERTIE steadied to avoid the heels of runners. This incident is to be reviewed. ODAIBA was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: LEIA ORGANA - cast left hind shoe. BREATHLESS BERTIE - not striding out left front. ANGELUS BELL - abnormal respiratory noise. Scratched: ORACLE KINGDOM - not striding out left front, withdrawn from the start. The Course Farrier on duty reported that the shoes of all the runners engaged at today's race meeting were checked and confirmed with the rules. The passports of all the runners that raced at today's race meeting were checked, identities, AHS and Equine Influenza vaccinations confirmed, as per normal procedure.
