The start of this Race was rescheduled, at the request of the Operator, from 16:55 to 17:40 as the float transporting the horses from Randjesfontein to Turffontein eventually arrived at 16:50. These horses were examined by the Course Veterinary Surgeon and in consultation with their trainers, it was decided that, in the best interest of the horse, MARTHA'S VINEYARD and BAROUCHE would be scratched. HATFIELD SQUARE and GATEWAY TO HEAVEN passed the veterinary examination. BABUSKA STORY lost 1 length. SNOW PATH took an awkward stride at approximately the 1200m and thereafter Jockey Maujean reported that he felt something amiss with this filly in running. Apprentice Hewitson reported that QUEENIE changed strides continually in running. COULDYOUBE was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: SILVER DUCHESS - not striding out both hind. SNOW PATH - not striding out left front. QUEENIE - examined post race, no significant findings. Scratched: GOODYTWOSHOES - insufficient recovery time. MARTHA'S VINEYARD (IRE) and BAROUCHE - Stipes permission following a veterinary examination after suffering transport difficulties. The course farrier on duty did not report there to be anything amiss with the shoes fitted to the horses that raced at today's race meeting. The passports of all the runners that raced at today's race meeting were checked and their identities, AHS and Equine Influenza vaccinations confirmed.
