MANITOBA lost 1 length. Jockey Khumalo reported that BARRACK STREET made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt. Leaving the 400m, Jockey Thackeray felt something amiss with ALPINE ECHO and eased this gelding out of the race. PERA PALACE was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: BARRACK STREET - no respiratory noise detected post race. BRAVE MARY - post race distress. ALPINE ECHO - Epistaxis and collapse. This horse was suspended for a period of 60 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of The National Horseracing Authority and to be galloped prior to entry. GREAT SHAKA - abnormal respiratory noise.
