IDEAL GIRL and ROB'S KRISSTONA lost 1 length. ARGENTEUS was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer Forster was questioned regarding the improved performance of ARGENTEUS compared to this filly's only previous run on the 19th April 2017. He attributed the improvement shown to this filly having matured and having gained experience from her previous outing, as well as having raced this filly fitted with blinkers today. Mr Forster has undertaken to race ARGENTEUS with blinkers in her immediate future engagements. The Board has noted this explanation. ROB'S KRISSTONA over-raced in the early stages. FRENCH TOAST over-raced in the early stages and was eased off the heels of HIDDEN THOUGHT near the 1200 metre mark. ARGENTEUS was switched in off the heels of PRINCESS RATATTOEE for a clear run approaching the 200 metre mark. SHIFTING GEARS was switched in off the heels of QUEENS CHAPEL for a clear run near the 200 metre mark. Thereafter QUEENS CHAPEL and SHIFTING GEARS shifted in slightly, carrying a tiring PRINCESS RATATTOEE inwards. Simultaneously ARGENTEUS shifted out abruptly away from the crop resulting in PRINCESS RATATTOEE having to be checked off the heels of ARGENTEUS. Jockey Wright, the rider of ARGENTEUS, appeared before the Board with regard to his role in this incident and was advised to react sooner to correct his mounts when shifting ground in races in future. In view of the performance of PELAYA, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. Vet: PELAYA - not striding out right hind. Scratched: LAST SUMMER - eliminated. IMAGINE THAT - change of surface.
