SIR BERNADINI (AUS) was restless in the stalls. Trainer Bosch advised to re-school this gelding. SHERMAN lost 3 lengths. BLAZE OF GOLD lost 1 length. SIR BERNADINI (AUS) was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. FULL COUNT over-raced in the early and middle stages and threw his head up on several occasions. AFORAWAY shifted in resulting in a tiring NOBLE DUKE having to ease off the heels of AFORAWAY approaching the 250 metre mark. Jockey Khumalo, the rider of AFORWAY, appeared before the Board with regard to this incident and was advised to take more care in future when shifting ground in races In view of the performance of NOBLE DUKE, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. BLAZE OF GOLD raced green. SIR BERNADINI (AUS) raced green and was hanging out in the straight. SEIZE THE DAY broke down near the 1300 metre mark which resulted in this colt being eased out of the race. SHERMAN did not race fitted with cheek-pieces. NOBLE DUKE did not race fitted with pacifiers. Vet: SEIZE THE DAY - Comminuted fracture of phalynx 1 of the left hind. Euthanased on humane grounds. NOBLE DUKE - nothing obvious detected. Scratched: ST PETER'S BAY - change of surface. BRITISH POUND - eliminated. The Course Farrier on duty did not report there to be anything amiss with the shoes fitted to the horses that raced at today's race meeting. The passports of all the runners that raced at today's race meeting were checked, identities, AHS and Equine Influenza vaccinations confirmed.
