THE START OF THIS RACE WAS DELAYED DUE TO MEEEN STREAK BEING STUBBORN LOADING.
THE STARTER REPORTED
A) WINTER VACATION and HOLA CHIQUITA were stubborn loading.
B) DERI was nervous and jumped awkwardly leaving the stalls.
C) MEEEN STREAK was stubborn loading, was slow away and lost 1 length. The starting stall certificate for this colt is withdrawn.
D) RUSSIAN KNIGHT was slow into stride.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED
A) In view of the Starter's report with regard to MEEEN STREAK (S Khathi), this colt's starting stall certificate is withdrawn and he is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as he proves tractable loading into the stalls. Suspension dates: 10 October 2020 to 16 October 2020 both days included. MEEEN STREAK may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer E Kaknis was advised.
B) WINTER VACATION (T Gould) was hanging out and proved difficult to assist in the straight. The Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
C) At the 400m, STUNNING (*L J Ferraris) had to be steadied when awkwardly placed between the heels of RUSSIAN KNIGHT (D R Lerena) and AMAZING TUNE (C Maujean).
D) Jockey C Maujean the Rider of AMAZING TUNE which was not persevered from the 50m, appeared before the Board and was advised that he is required to make accurate reports regarding anything which may have affected his mounts performance.
E) In view of the performance of MEEEN STREAK (distance 32.35 - betting 60/1) which raced green and trailed the field throughout. The Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
F) Trainer D A McKenzie signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 39.7.5 in that he failed to vaccinate the horse PURE QUALITY against Equine Influenza in accordance with the programme of vaccinations as published from time to time in the Racing Calendar. A penalty of a R1000 fine was imposed.
G) The winner WHAT A CRACKER was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis, Trainer G D Smith advised (LM).
JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES
A) STUNNING Apprentice L J Ferraris replaced Jockey L Hewitson (07:23 - 09/10/2020).
B) WHAT A CRACKER raced equipped with a tongue tie (07:08 - 09/10/2020).
C) DERI raced without a tongue tie (08:11 - 09/10/2020).

A) STUNNING raced in orange, yellow sleeves, grey stars, orange cap, (Ownership unchanged).
