The start of this Race was delayed due to the stirrup iron on the saddle of WITCH OF THE WEST, which broke after being caught on the starting stall gate, having to be replaced. PURDEY jumped awkwardly leaving the stalls. CAPE FIRE and THE GOLDEN ONE lost 1 length. Jockey Brown reported that LADY DEFENDER made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. Jockey Zechner, the rider of KICK BUTT, and Jockey Maujean, the rider of PURDEY, reported that they felt something amiss with their respective mounts in running. INTHEPURPLERAIN spread its left front shoe in running. Jockey Lerena reported that this filly made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. SAHEERA (ARG) shifted out away from the crop in the concluding stages. ZULU DAWN was hanging in, in the concluding stages. WITCH OF THE WEST was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. INTHEPURPLERAIN raced equipped with a tongue tie. Vet: ROLLED SILVER - abnormal respiratory noise. LADY DEFENDER - blowing heavily post race. KICK BUTT - not striding out both front. PURDEY - examined post race, no significant findings. INTHEPURPLERAIN - no respiratory noise detected post race. SAHEERA (ARG) - abnormal respiratory noise.
