THE STARTER REPORTED: a) FIRED UP was stubborn loading. The starting stall certificate for this gelding has been withdrawn (PHvdW). b) GREEN HAZE (S Khumalo) and YOUCANTHURRYLOVE (P Strydom) were slow into stride. c) SOLDIER ON (*P Mxoli) was slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) SOLDIER ON (*P Mxoli) hung out from the 300m. b) Jockey S Khumalo reported that he felt something amiss with GREEN HAZE in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine chis gelding. c) ASTRIX (W Kennedy), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer A Peter, acting on behalf of Trainer P A Peter, advised (AH). d) In view of the Starter's report with regard to FIRED UP, this gelding's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and he is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as he proves tractable loading with a companion. Suspension dates: 11.10.20 to the 17.10.20. FIRED UP may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Assistant Trainer A Ndzilana, acting on behalf of Trainer M F de Kock, was advised. JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) GREEN HAZE raced with a cornell collar (declared 22 November 2018). THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) GREEN HAZE examined post race, nothing obvious detected. SCRATCHED: a) PACK LEADER insufficient recovery time (Trainer) (Rule 53.5 applies).
