THE STARTER REPORTED: a) Fair start for all runners. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) At the 250m, SEEN THE LIGHT (*K Strydom) shifted in when awkwardly placed on the heels of SUGAR AND SPICE (*J Jacobs) which shifted out away from the crop from the 300m. Apprentice J Jacobs appeared before the Board regarding his decision to continue using his crop in the right hand despite his mount shifting out from the 300m. In this regard, he was unable to provide a suitable explanation, other than to state that his stronger hand is his right hand. The Board adjourned to review this incident. b) Trainer G van Zyl (Jnr) signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 10.5.6.1, in that he failed to notify the Chief Stipendiary Steward within 2 days that the horse CLETO is a gelding. Accordingly, a fine of R250 was imposed. c) CALVINO (D Dillon), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Stable Employee T Naidoo acting on behalf of Trainer K Naidoo advised (ML). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) LONG DAY'S JOURNEY raced with an alumite bar shoe left fore (advised 10.10.20/8h15). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) CLETO is a gelding. Gelded on the 06.08.20. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED : a) LONG DAY'S JOURNEY : Abnormal respiratory noise.
