The start of this Race was delayed due to the delay in the previous race and the saddles on NAAFER (AUS) and PILLAROFTHEEARTH having to be refitted at the start. SOME SONG was slow, losing 1 length. The Stipendiary Board called a race review into the start of this Race. After reviewing the patrol films, it was established that the handler allocated to NAAFER (AUS), in stall gate number 4, still had this colt in hand after the start was effected and therefore had impeded NAAFER (AUS). The Board declared NAAFER (AUS) to be a non-runner. ALFOLK (AUS) and SOME SONG were selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Jockey Mansour signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined for a contravention, read with Guideline G on the use of the crop, in that he struck the horse SOME SONG when it was out of contention for a place. Vet: NAAFER (AUS) - speedy cut right front. Scratched: WHORLY WHORLY - incorrectly shod. NAAFER (AUS) - declared a non runner.
