THE CAT was nervous in the stalls and rushed the front gate. IMPERIAL GUARD stumbled leaving the stalls. OFF THE BIT was slow into stride. FREDERICK FOX was hanging inward over the final 400 metres. Jockey van der Merwe reported that DRAGON FLAME was not striding out freely in the running. Passing the 300 metre mark, FOR LUCK SAKE and BONNE VIE became cramped for galloping room between THE CAT, which was hanging outward, and FREDERICK FOX, which was hanging inward, this resulted in FOR LUCK SAKE having to ease for several strides, thereafter BONNE VIE steadied off the heels of IMPERIAL GUARD shortly before the finish. This incident was reviewed by the Stipendiary Board and this was considered a racing incident, as no blame could be apportioned to any one rider. Jockey Fourie reported that TRIPPLE EXPLOSION did not act on the poly track surface. OFF THE BIT was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: GREEN LANTERN - checked post race, nothing obvious detected. DRAGON FLAME and DIVAR - coughed post race. FREDERICK FOX - not striding out right front. TRIPPLE EXPLOSION - not striding out in front. FOR LUCK SAKE - coughed post race, not striding out in front. Scratched: CABALLO BLANCO and GRANDISSIMO - change of surface. The Course Farrier on duty reported that the shoes of all the runners engaged at today's race meeting were checked and conformed to the rules. The passports of all the runners that raced at today's race meeting were checked, identities, AHS and Equine Influenza vaccinations confirmed.
