PORTELINHA TANGO and SWEET VITTORIA were slow into stride. BLUE JASMINE was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer Lunn was questioned with regard to the improved performance of BLUE JASMINE compared to this filly's two previous performances. He stated that on the 23 August 2017, BLUE JASMINE was reported not striding out freely by the Veterinary Surgeon which had accounted for her poor performance. He further stated that the fitting of the blinkers for tonight's race had attributed to the improvement shown. He has undertaken to race BLUE JASMINE fitted with blinkers in her immediate future engagements. The Board noted his explanation. In view of the performances of SILENT DREAM and ILLUSTRIOUS STAR, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine these fillies. PATAGONIA raced with a tongue tie. Vet: SILENT DREAM and ILLUSTRIOUS STAR - nothing obvious detected. MYELISHA and ROY'S FLUTE - coughing. PATAGONIA - speedy cut left hind. Scratched: DELECTABLE DESIRE - not eating up.
