MAMBO SYMPHONY was slow into stride. REBEL BARON was slow, losing 1 length. In view of the performance from MAMBO SYMPHONY, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. Apprentice Bantam, the rider of HIGHWAY EIGHTYFIVE, and Apprentice Sakayi, the rider of SHORTSTOP, reported that their respective mounts did not stride out freely in running. MAMBO SYMPHONY had to steady momentarily when awkwardly placed on the inside of HIGHWAY EIGHTYFIVE at approximately the 1200m. MIDNIGHT RACER raced to the front of the field and thereafter compounded in the straight. A GREATER POWER commenced to give ground to the field from the 300m. Apprentice Gates, the rider of MIDNIGHT RACER, rode a satisfactory qualifying ride. EDISSON was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: MAMBO SYMPHONY and HIGHWAY EIGHTYFIVE - examined post race, nothing obvious detected. EDISSON - speedy cut left front. SHORTSTOP - not striding out right front.
