ELECTRO CAT and STATE CAPTURE were slow into stride. The start of this Race was delayed due to OVAL OFFICE bolting en route to the start, dislodging the rider and thereafter having to be caught and removed from the course, withdrawn. ELECTRO CAT stumbled leaving the stalls, thereafter ran outward entering the first turn and carried NOORDHOEK PLAYER wide and BIG THREE steadied from this movement. BIG THREE was cramped for galloping room to the inside of NOORDHOEK PLAYER on the turn entering the home straight. Jockey van der Merwe reported that he felt something amiss with MANHATTAN ICE passing the 600 metre mark and he eased his mount up. HOTEL CIPRIANI was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. TOUGH HARRY raced with a tongue tie. Vet: BIG THREE - checked post race, nothing obvious detected. MANHATTAN ICE - distressed, treated. Scratched: OVAL OFFICE - bolted the course and was withdrawn.
