The start of this Race was delayed due to the withdrawal of LEFT HOOK, which injured itself in the stalls and was subsequently withdrawal by the course Veterinary Surgeon. KING OF RAP and PIETRO MASCAGNI were slow into stride. LEFT HOOK reared in the stalls, injuring itself. The Starting Stall Certificate for LEFT HOOK was withdrawn. SQUARE THE CIRCLE was stubborn loading. The Starting Stall Certificate for this gelding was withdrawn. KING OF RAP kicked the back gates, was removed from the stalls, checked by the Course Veterinary Surgeon, passed fit to race and reloaded. Jockey Zackey reported that RIO DE JANEIRO (NZ) raced with its tongue over the bit. In view of the Starter's report with regard to LEFT HOOK, this gelding was suspended for a period of 7 days and until such time as it proves tractable loading in the starting stalls. LEFT HOOK may not be presented for repassing during this period.
