THE STARTER REPORTED: a) GLOBAL SPECTRUM (C Murray) jumped slow, losing one length and thereafter was slow into stride. b) TRACKER JACKER (K Sakayi) jumped awkwardly outwards, making contact with THE CORPORAL (R Khathi). c) WEST COAST PIRATE (AUS) jumped slow, losing two lengths THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) HIKARU (O Noach) pulled hard in the early stages. b) PAPER TRAIL (G Cheyne) was carried wide on the early part of the bend by TRACKER JACKER (K Sakayi), which pulled hard in the early stages and was shifted out to avoid the heels of HIKARU (O Noach). c) Approaching the 600m, HIKARU (O Noach) was tightened for galloping room on the inside of PAPER TRAIL (G Cheyne), which pulled hard in the early and middle stages and had to be steadied when awkwardly placed close to the heels of TRACKER JACKER (K Sakayi). d) THE CORPORAL (R Khathi) was switched out at the 250m to continue its run. e) GLOBAL SPECTRUM (C Murray) and WEST COAST PIRATE (AUS) (R Danielson) raced green. f) THE CORPORAL (R Khathi) returned suffering from a bilateral epistaxis due to an exercise induced pulmonary haemorrhage and is suspended, for a period of 60 days, from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of The National Horseracing Authority of Southern Africa in terms of Rule 93.1. (Dr J Batt) g) OTTOMAN EMPIRE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AE Sands was advised. (CvA) h) SHANGAAN, the second-placed horse, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer SJ Snaith was advised.
