THE STARTER REPORTED: a) ROSEMARY MEADOWN (G Cheyne) became restless in the stalls before the start was effected, turned his head sideways as the start was effected and thereafter jumped slow, losing three lengths. b) RESPECTABLE MISS (C Murray) jumped inwards, making contact with JUST JOYCE (O Noach) and squeezed out DO ANGELS CRY (A Domeyer). THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) After reviewing the start of this race with regards to ROSEMARY MEADOW (G Cheyne) in stall gate 6, it was established that the filly was restless in the stalls, had turned her head to the left as the start was effected. The stewards were satisfied that the filly had not been impeded and declared her to be a runner. In view of the report from the Starter regarding ROSEMARY MEADOW (G Cheyne), Trainer M Rix will be advised to have this filly re schooled before her next engagement in terms of Rule 61.6.10. b) In a slow run race in the early stages ENCHANTED CREEK (G Behr), JUST JOYCE (O Noach) and SILVER MARIA (K de Melo) proved difficult to settle. c) Approaching the 200m, SILVER MARIA (K de Melo) had to be steadied off the heels of JUST JOYCE (O Noach), which shifted out slightly away from DO ANGELS CRY (A Domeyer), which was hanging out. d) At the 100m, ENCHANTED CREEK (G Behr) was tightened for galloping room, rolled in away from KATIE TO (R Fourie) and made contact with the hindquarters of DO ANGELS CRY (A Domeyer), resulting in both ENCHANTED CREEK (G Behr) and DO ANGELS CRY (A Domeyer) becoming unbalanced. e) ROYAL BLUE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer B Crawford was advised.
