THE STARTER REPORTED: a) LETS BOOGIE BABY (R Khathi) was reluctant to load. b) THE SUMMONS (*X Jacobs) was fractious, broke through the front of the stalls, was immediately restrained by the rider, returned to the start, examined by the course veterinary surgeon and passed fit to race, was reloaded, causing a delay. Thereafter was restless in the stalls and jumped awkwardly. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) In view of the report from the Starter regarding LETS BOOGIE BABY (R Khathi), Trainer VH Marshall will be advised to have this colt re schooled before his next engagement in terms of Rule 61.6.10. b) In view of the report from the starter regarding THE SUMMONS (*X Jacobs), this filly's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and she is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as she proves to be tractable with a companion. Suspension dates: 14/10/2020 to 20/10/2020 inclusive). THE SUMMONS may not be presented for re-passing during this period. c) Shortly after the start, the right-side stirrup leather on THE SUMMONS (*X Jacobs) came undone. Apprentice Jacobs was forced to ride the majority of the race with his right foot out of the stirrup iron. He removed his left foot from the stirrup iron at the 300m. This placed him at a distinct disadvantage throughout the race. A member of the stipendiary stewards examined Apprentice Jacob's equipment and found it to be in good working order. d) In view of the performance of CHIEF HELMET (C Murray), which finished tailed off, the veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. e) LETS BOOGIE BABY, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer VH Marshall was advised.
