The start of the 9th Race was slightly delayed to have an outside contractors vehicle removed from the service road before loading could commence. AIR SALUTE was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. MIDNIGHT raced green. Jockey Delpech reported SHINE UP not striding out freely in running. In view of the performances of VERISIMILITUDE and PHAROAH'S TIGER, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine these horses. MIDNIGHT shifted in, into the crop, over the final 50 metres. Apprentice de Gouveia, the rider of MIDNIGHT, appeared before the Board with regard to this incident and was advised to take stronger measures to prevent his mounts from shifting ground in races in future. Vet: BLACK MARINER - Epistaxis, 60 day suspension. VERISIMILITUDE - nothing obvious detected. PHAROAH'S TIGER and SHINE UP - not striding out left hind. Scratched: JALS TIGER - sold without engagement. The course farrier on duty did not report there to be anything amiss with the shoes fitted to the horses that raced at today's race meeting. The passports of all the runners that raced at today's race meeting were checked and their identities, AHS and Equine Influenza vaccinations confirmed.
