The start of this Race was delayed due to the farrier having to re-fit the right fore shoe on MIGHTY MISSISSIPPI at the start. STORM HERO, JET'E AMOUR and SEQUEL were slow into stride. FLY BY SKYE was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. WALL STREET TRADER jumped out as the start was effected resulting in EAGLE'S LEGACY becoming cramped for galloping room. JET'E AMOUR raced green. In view of the performances of WINE DARK SEA and ROY'S MAMBO, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine these geldings. Jockey Delpech reported SEQUEL was not striding out freely in running and as a result he did not persevere with his ride in the latter stages. FLY BY SKYE returned post race having cast the left fore shoe. The ownership of SEQUEL should read: Mr D Kannemeyer; and the Colours are: black, white diamonds, red cap. Vet: WINE DARK SEA and ROY'S MAMBO - nothing obvious detected. SEQUEL - not striding out right fore. Scratched: MIDNIGHT ORACLE - elevated temperature. GLITTERROCK - coughing.
