Jockey Maujean (medically indisposed - broken leg) and Apprentice Moodley (permission to ride in KwaZulu Natal) did not ride at today's race meeting. They were replaced on their mounts. THRU THIC AND THIN was restless in the stalls, taken out and reloaded later. This caused a delay to the start of this Race. The starting stalls certificate for this filly was withdrawn. NADIA and SOMEONE EXCITING lost 1 length. ANDIAMO stumbled shortly after the start and dislodged the rider. In view of the Starter's report with regard to THRU THIC AND THIN, this filly was suspended for a period of 7 days and until such time as it proves tractable loading into the starting stalls. THRU THIC AND THIN may not be presented for repassing during this period. Shortly after the start, Jockey de Melo was dislodged from ANDIAMO, which was badly unbalanced and stumbled after it was bumped by CARMALITA (AUS), which jumped inwards as the start was effected. Jockey de Melo was examined by the Course Medical Officer and passed fit to continue with his riding engagements. In view of the performance from ENSEMBLE, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. Jockey Fayd'Herbe reported that WESTERN SHAMROCK changed strides continually in running. Jockey Marwing reported that COUNT KOURNIKOVA did not stride out freely in running. AMAJORY raced to the front and compounded from the 200m. Thereafter Jockey Strydom reported that this filly made an abnormal respiratory noise and he did not persevere with his ride in the concluding stages. ANDIAMO spread its left front shoe. RADIANT SPLENDOUR (AUS) was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: ENSEMBLE - not striding out left front. AMAJORY - abnormal respiratory noise. WESTERN SHAMROCK - examined post race, nothing obvious detected. ANDIAMO - de-gloving of left front fetlock; overreach left front. COUNT KOURNIKOVA - not striding out left hind; not striding out right front. Scratched: TORREY PINES - bruised left front shoulder. AQUATIQUE - under 12 days' suspension.
