AFDEEK (AUS) cast the left fore shoe on the way to the start, which the farrier was unable to replace. In consultation with the Veterinary Surgeon and Assistant Trainer de Kock, the right fore shoe was removed, the gelding was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon, declared fit to race and it raced unshod in front, causing a delay. MILDEN SPELL was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: AFDEEK (AUS) - examined and the start and declared fit to race. Scratched: SIR CLIFF - pharyngitis.
