The Off time was rescheduled due to the delay in Race 4, and at the request of Phumelela. FIRST SWALLOW was slow losing one length and thereafter was slow into stride. At about the 300m, STAR OF LONDON was brushed outwards slightly by LEAVES OF GRASS (AUS) onto the heels of BRAVE MOVE, which shifted in slightly. This resulted in STAR OF LONDON having to check, losing position. The Board adjourned to review the patrol films regarding this incident. Stable Employee Botha, who acted on behalf of Trainer Puller, appeared before the Board and was questioned regarding the performance from MISS D' ARAY today compared to her previous run on 21 October 2017 when he had ridden the filly and she had finished 12.10 lengths behind the winner. Her run on 21 October 2017 was reviewed with Stable Employee Botha. Stable Employee Botha explained after a poor start he had taken the filly around the field to the front approaching the 800m and she had failed to run on at all in the straight. This was confirmed on the patrol films reviewed. He further explained that on the filly's return to the stable he had noted that the filly had peely nose virus, which in his opinion had accounted for her poor run on 21 October. Stable Employee Botha had failed to report to the Stipendiary Board as required to so. Trainer Puller was charged with a contravention in that he failed to report to the Stipendiary Board anything which might have any bearing on the past or future running of the horse MISS D' ARAY. Stable Employee Botha, who acted on behalf of Trainer Puller, signed an Admission of Guilt and Trainer Puller was fined. Jockey Cheyne, the rider of LEAVES OF GRASS (AUS), dropped his left side rein briefly at the 150m. MISS D' ARAY was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Scratched: PHILAE - coughing.
