THE STARTER REPORTED
A) UP EARLY (L Mxothwa) was stubborn loading.
B) TAKATUL (D R Lerena) refused to load. The starting stall certificate for this gelding has been withdrawn. Trainer M L Turner was advised (DK).
C) BIG MYTH (AUS) (T Gould) was slow losing two lengths.
D) PEGA D'ORO (E Webber) (T Gould) was slow losing four lengths.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED
A) As the start was effected, the Handler allocated to PEGA D'ORO in stall gate 11 failed to remove the hood on this gelding timeously. A race review was called into the start of this race. The Board, after reviewing the patrol film of the start, established that PEGA D'ORO had been impeded by the Handler and declared this gelding to be a non-runner in terms of Rule 61.5.10.2.
B) Jockey C Habib reported that SARK did not stride out freely in. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
C) In view of the performance of RIGA D'ORA (L Hewitson), (distance 3,85 lengths, betting 3/1), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
D) In view of the performance of REACH FOR THE LINE (S Naidoo), (distance 11,10 lengths, betting 6/1), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine gelding.
E) In view of the Starter's report with regard to TAKATUL (D R Lerena), this gelding's starting stall certificate is withdrawn and he is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as he proves tractable loading into the stalls. Suspension dates: 17 October 2020 to 23 October 2020 both days included. TAKATUL may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer M L Turner was advised.
F) The winner NINJINSKY'S SON (S Fortune) was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis, Trainer G Paddock advised (LM).
