GEORGINA was slow into stride. QUEEN OF SWING jumped with her head up losing one length. ARRAN ISLES and EMPRESS ADELAIDE were restless in the stalls. ARRAN ISLES was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer Badenhorst was questioned with regard to the improved performance of ARRAN ISLES compared to this filly's previous performance on the 05 November 2017. Miss Badenhorst could offer no suitable explanation for the improvement shown. Her attention was drawn to the Rules pertaining to in and out running. DUSTY BUTTON over-raced in the early and middle stages. QUEEN OF SWING over-raced in the early and middle stages, raced wide on the latter part of the bend and into the straight, losing ground to the field. Thereafter QUEEN OF SWING improved and ran on at the finish. Apprentice Gates, accompanied by Riding Master, Mr Roebuck, appeared before the Board with regard to his ride and his riding instructions. After hearing his evidence, the Board was satisfied that QUEEN OF SWING was ridden on merit. Apprentice Gates was advised that the Stipendiary Board will be monitoring his future rides. In view of the performances of TIP TOE AND GO and EMPRESS ADELAIDE, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine these fillies. Vet: TIP TOE AND GO - nothing obvious detected. EMPRESS ADELAIDE - not striding out right hind and coughing.
