SPICE ROADS and ROMAN lost one length. SOVEREIGN SOLDIER and MIGHTY MISSISSIPPI were selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Stable Employee Karriem was questioned with regard to the improved performance of SOVEREIGN SOLDIER compared to this gelding's previous performance on the 03 November 2017. Mr Karriem could offer no suitable explanation for that performance. His attention was drawn to the Rules pertaining to in and out running. Apprentice Gates, the rider of ROMAN, had a satisfactory qualifying ride. WHITEWATER RAPIDS and GIMMEAGINANDTONIC over-raced in the early and middle stages. GIMMEAGINANDTONIC was hanging in, in the straight. INN FLITEMODE over-raced in the early stages, raced green, was hanging out on the bend and raced wide from the 1100 metre mark. PACIFIC ELECTRIC took no interest in running. In view of the performance of MIDNIGHT MESSENGER the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. JET'E AMOUR returned post race having cast the left fore shoe. MIDNIGHT MESSENGER raced with ear muffs. GIMMEAGINANDTONIC raced with a cornel collar. Vet: FULL COUNT - coughing. MIDNIGHT MESSENGER - nothing obvious detected. PACIFIC ELECTRIC - not striding out.
