The start of this Race was delayed due to the previous Race delay and the 30 minute gap between Races. AWESOME ANGEL ONE was slow into stride. FANTASY ART (AUS) and FORCEFUL RUSH lost one length. MASTER SAM was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. FANTASY ART (AUS) was eased off the heels of AWESOME ANGEL ONE shortly after the start. FORCEFUL RUSH threw his head down shortly after the start and as a result lost position. Thereafter FORCEFUL RUSH was hanging out on the bend. Jockey Daniels reported FORCEFUL RUSH was not striding out freely in running. Jockey Randolph reported OLIGARCH took no interest in running. TUSCAN (ARG) raced wide in the early and middle stages, raced to the front and thereafter compounded in the closing stages. In view of this, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. FORCEFUL RUSH was baulked for a clear run between the 300 and 200 metre marks and thereafter was switched in to obtain a clear run. FORCEFUL RUSH was then switched inwards further, off the heels of a tiring TUSCAN (ARG). Jockey Daniels, the rider of FORECFUL RUSH, appeared before the Board with regard to his riding in the straight. Mr Daniels explained that he felt that this gelding was not striding out freely in running and when baulked for a clear run in the straight, he had to switch this gelding towards the inside of the track to obtain a clear run. Thereafter he was able to encourage FORCEFUL RUSH to the finish. The Board after considering Mr Daniels explanation, advised him to ride more decisively in future to obtain clear running in races so as to leave no room for questioning by the Board. FANTASY ART (AUS) returned post race having cast the right fore shoe. FANTASY ART (AUS) raced with a tongue tie. Vet: TUSCAN (ARG), OLIGARCH and FORCEFUL RUSH - nothing obvious detected.
