NAKED TRUTH, STORM HERO, WILD ENCOUNTER and MARISCHINO CHERRY lost one length. TOP CLASSMAN was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Approaching the 1700 metre mark, MUTAWAARY (AUS) began to over-race and shifted to the inside of STAR OF KAZAN, who had shifted in slightly. As a result MARISCHINO CHERRY was bumped and carried inwards and NAKED TRUTH was cramped along the inside running rail and was checked losing position. The Board was satisfied that no individual rider could be held responsible for this incident. THE BYZANTINE was hanging out in the final straight, shifted out from the 300 metre mark carrying IT'S MY WAY and TOP CLASSMAN outwards near the 150 metre mark and thereafter making contact with IT'S MY WAY resulting in IT'S MY WAY and TOP CLASSMAN, making contact, both horses becoming unbalanced, and IT'S MY WAY then losing momentum between horses. A race review was called by a Stipendiary Steward which was followed by an objection being lodged by Trainer Goodman on behalf of the fourth placed horse, IT'S MY WAY, against the third placed horse, THE BYZANTINE, on the grounds of interference in the latter stages. After considering the evidence, the Board was of the opinion that but for the interference IT'S MY WAY would have beaten THE BYZANTINE. Therefore the objection was upheld, the Judge's result amended and the deposit refunded. An Inquiry will be held into this incident. The saddle on MUTAWAARY (AUS) slipped backwards in running resulting in Jockey Marcus being unable to fully assist this gelding in running and not persevering with his ride in the closing stages. Jockey Randolph, the rider of STORM HERO, accidentally dropped his crop at approximately the 500 metre mark. Jockey de Melo, the rider of IT'S MY WAY, accidentally dropped his crop at approximately the 200 metre mark. The saddle on MARISCHINO CHERRY slipped forward at approximately the 1400 metre mark and as a result Apprentice Sakayi was unable to assist this filly, with the lead bag then falling from the saddle on the latter part of the bend. An objection was lodged by the Clerk of Scales against MARISCHINO CHERRY, unplaced, on the grounds that Apprentice Sakayi weighed in 700 grams below the weight at which he was declared out. The Board having considered the evidence upheld the objection disqualified MARISCHINO CHERRY from the Race. MARISCHINO CHERRY raced with alumites in front and unshod behind. The Medical Officer reported that Jockey Daniels was stood down after the running of this Race with a headache. Scratched: MARISCHINO CHERRY - rider returned to scale underweight.
