The start of the 9th Race was delayed slightly as a result of the Veterinary Surgeon examining ROYAL KAITRINA at the start. Declared fit to race. AZNERAK and ROY'S ZAIRE were slow into stride. GO WITH FLO and GORGEOUS GUEST lost 1 length. ZADORA was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. ROY'S ZAIRE was switched to the outside of ROYAL KAITRINA shortly after the start carrying GORGEOUS GUEST outwards. ALLDRESSEDUP was cramped and then shifted in slightly near the 1000 metre mark carrying DEVON BELLE inwards slightly, resulting in TIDE IS TURNING being inconvenienced. ALLDRESSEDUP was switched out for a clear run shortly before entering the straight carrying GORGEOUS GUEST outwards. Apprentice Gates, the rider, of ALLDRESSEDUP appeared before the Board with regard to this incident and was advised to take more care when switching in races in future. CAMOMILE was switched in for a clear run on two occasions near the 300 metre mark resulting in TIDE IS TURNING being inconvenienced. ROYAL KAITRINA and GORGEOUS GUEST brushed on a number of occasions near the 150 metre mark. Thereafter ROYAL KAITRINA was switched to the inside of ALLDRESSEDUP for a clear run. In view of the performance of TIDE IS TURNING, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this mare. MISSIBABA raced with her tongue tied down. DEVON BELLE raced fitted with alumites both fore and unshod behind. TIDE IS TURNING raced fitted with ear-muffs. TIDE IS TURNING cast both hind shoes. The course farrier had difficulty replacing the hind shoes on this mare and as a result TIDE IS TURNING raced with alumites both fore and unshod behind. Vet: NATIONAL AGENDA - abnormal respiratory noise. TIDE IS TURNING - nothing obvious detected. The course farrier on duty did not report there to be anything amiss with the shoes fitted to the horses that raced at today's race meeting. The passports of all the runners that raced at today's race meeting were checked and their identities, AHS and Equine Influenza vaccinations confirmed.
