The start of the 1st Race was delayed as a result of the farrier having to re-fit the right fore shoe on DIVINE PATH at the start. Subsequently found to be not striding out in front and withdrawn by the Veterinary Surgeon. There was a further delay to allow the public to restructure bets. DEXTER, EIGHT GOT ZIP, GOOD BUDDY, MASTER SILVA and TO WOO were slow into stride. GOOD BUDDY was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. MASTER SILVA raced green. Near the 400 metre mark, ANZA-BORREGO racing green and hanging out, shifted out slightly. Simultaneously GOOD BUDDY shifted in slightly, carrying WILD RENDEZVOUS inwards, resulting in MASTER SILVA and MYSTICAL SON being cramped and making contact on three occasions and both becoming unbalanced. Thereafter GOOD BUDDY shifted inwards towards ANZA-BORREGO. WILD RENDEZVOUS raced fitted with alumites both fore and unshod behind. Vet: GOOD BUDDY - cut into left hind. Scratched: DIVINE PATH - examined at the start, not striding out left fore; pulled left fore shoe off and was withdrawn by the Veterinary Surgeon.
