There was a delay to the start of the 5th Race due to lightning in close proximity to the race track. Thereafter the horses were given permission to proceed to the start without parading due to the delay as well as the inclement weather conditions. PURE LOGIC and TOA NUI were slow into stride. CRIME VICTIM lost 1 length. TOA NUI was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. FLY BY SKYE and AFORAWAY over-raced in the early and middle stages. TOA NUI was hanging out in the final straight. THE MONEY MAN shifted in approaching the 100 metre mark and thereafter straightened. TOA NUI then shifted out making contact with THE MONEY MAN, and thereafter THE MONEY MAN was carried outwards by TOA NUI to the finish. A race review was called by a Stipendiary Steward which was followed by an Objection which was lodged by Mr Eudey, trainer of the second placed horse, THE MONEY MAN, against, TOA NUI, on the grounds of interference in the closing stages. The Board after viewing the patrol videos from the various angles, hearing all the evidence and considering the distance of 0.10 lengths between these two horses at the finish, was of the opinion that THE MONEY MAN would have beaten TOA NUI and therefore upheld the Objection and amended the Judge's result. Due to the performances of SILENT OBSESSION and AFORAWAY, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine these horses. Vet: AFRICAN PHAROAH - blowing. SILENT OBSESSION and AFORAWAY - nothing obvious detected. Scratched: ARCTIC TEON and ROY'S MAGIC (AUS) - insufficient recovery time.
