SECRET HARBOUR was restless in the stalls. Trainer Matchett was advised to re-school this gelding prior to its next engagement. RAMBO stumbled shortly after the start. Jockey Brown reported that he felt something amiss with WILLIAM NICOL in running. Apprentice Hewitson reported that RIGHTFUL KING returned distressed. In view of the performance from TAKADUMA, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. Assistant Trainer Woodruff was requested to report back on the condition of TAKADUMA on return to the stables. PREMIER SHOW was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Jockey Thackeray replaced Jockey Danielson on FLAG OF FRANCE. Permission was granted for this change as Jockey Danielson had provided documentation timeously to the Stipendiary Board proving that he had booked a flight to Cape Town and was unable to fulfil his engagement in this race. Apprentice Lerena, claiming a 3.5kg allowance, replaced Jockey Delpech on CANNES. Permission was granted for this change as Jockey Delpech had provided documentation timeously to the Stipendiary Board proving that he had booked a return flight to Durban and was unable to fulfil his engagement in this race. Vet: WILLIAM NICOL - examined post race, nothing obvious detected. RIGHTFUL KING - not striding out right front. TAKADUMA - examined post race, nothing obvious detected. Scratched: GUN FIGHTER - under veterinary treatment. THEWAYWEMAKEM - no suitable jockey available. RACING FREE - lame right front.The course farrier on duty did not report there to be anything amiss with the shoes fitted to the horses that raced at today's race meeting. The passports of all the runners that raced at today's race meeting were checked and their identities, AHS and Equine Influenza vaccinations confirmed.
