ARGENTEUS got his right hind leg caught up in the stalls, was removed, examined by the Veterinary and was reloaded. Assistant Trainer Forster was advised to re-school this filly. STAR OF CAESOUR (AUS) and SKYFIRE were slow into stride. MAYFAIR was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Jockey Wright reported that he felt something amiss with ARGENTEUS and as a result he did not persevere with his ride over the final 200 metres. Apprentice Ngwane reported STAR OF CAESOUR (AUS) was making an abnormal respiratory noise in running. Jockey Kennedy, the rider of MAYFAIR, dropped his right side rein at approximately the 200 metre mark, which he regained shortly thereafter. Vet: ARGENTEUS and STAR OF CAESOUR (AUS) - nothing obvious detected. Scratched: BEAUTIFUL SHAY - insufficient recovery time. Several Jockeys and Apprentices were selected for the taking of breathalyser tests and urine samples for analysis. The course farrier on duty did not report there to be anything amiss with the shoes fitted to the horses that raced at today's race meeting. The passports of all the runners that raced at today's race meeting were checked and their identities, AHS and Equine Influenza vaccinations confirmed.
