The start of the 7th Race was delayed due to the delay in the previous race as well as ALL HONESTY proving difficult proceeding to the start. Shortly after the start, WILLOWGRANGE lost 1 length. GREEN ICE was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer Wright was questioned regarding the improved performance of GREEN ICE was compared to this filly's previous two performances over 1400 and 1600 metres. Mrs Wright could offer no explanation other than the riders had reported that they felt something amiss with this filly in her previous two performances and that GREEN ICE is better suited to the longer distance of tonight's race. Mrs Wright has undertaken to race this filly over similar distances in future. The Board will monitor the future performances of GREEN ICE. In view of the behaviour of ALL HONESTY en route to the start, Trainer Kotzen has been advised that should this filly prove difficult proceeding to the start in future she may be suspended. WILLOWGRANGE was squeezed out shortly after the start. HANDS AT WORK over-raced approaching the 1600 metre mark thereafter was carried inwards slightly by EINA. This resulted in MAYBE becoming cramped along the inside running rail losing position. Apprentice Moodley, the rider of EINA, appeared before the Board with regard to this incident and was advised to take stronger measures when shifting ground in races in future. GREEN ICE was switched in for a clear run at approximately the 150 metre mark. ALL HONESTY raced without cheek-pieces. Scratched: STAR OF CAESOUR (AUS) and SKYFIRE - insufficient recovery time.
