The start of this Race was delayed due to the bridle on LALA becoming detached en route to the start resulting in the bridle and the blinkers having to be refitted on the track before this mare could proceed to the start. Thereafter the tongue tie on CALL ME WINTER also had to be re-fitted prior to being loaded. DRESS FOR SUCCESS was slow into stride. STATUTE lost two lengths. ROY'S RIVIERA (AUS) lost two lengths and thereafter was slow into stride. HASHTAGYOLO and SAIL were selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. DAWN CALLING and ROY'S RIVIERA (AUS) were cramped on the inside of FIORELLA shortly after the start. ROY'S RIVIERA ran off a merit rating of 89, weight unchanged following her win on 22 December 2017. The Medical Officer reported that Jockey De Melo stood down after the running of this Race due to a soft tissue injury, right arm. Unable to continue riding. Scratched: SIMPLY ROYAL - abscess left fore.
