The start of this Race was delayed due to the farrier having to attend to the left fore shoe on GAZALA GALLOP (A Marcus) at the start. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) EL TORERO (S Veale) lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) An Inquiry will be opened in order to establish why NORTHERN WARRIOR (*M Zuma) had to ease at the 1300m. b) SILVER PALACE (L Hewitson) over-raced in the early stages. c) In the middle stages, INSTINCTIVE POWER (A Arries) and ALFREDO (M Yeni) raced clear of the field. Thereafter, at the 350m, ALFREDO (M Yeni) was carried in by INSTINCTIVE POWER (A Arries) which shifted in sharply. d) NORTHERN WARRIOR (*M Zuma) shifted out away from the crop from the 250m. e) Shortly before the finish, GAZALA GALLOP (A Marcus) was awkwardly placed on the heels of HEY BILL (S Moodley) which shifted out away from the crop in the concluding stages. As a consequence of this incident, Jockey A Marcus was unable to fully assist GAZALA GALLOP out to the end of the Race. f) Jockey A Marcus reported that GAZALA GALLOP (1.25 lengths) did not stride out freely in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. g) Apprentice K Brewer (ROY'S SOCIAL CLUB) did not complete a satisfactory qualifying ride. h) HEY BILL (S Moodley), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer M Roberts advised (DA). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) ALFREDO raced with alumites in front, unshod behind (advised 13.10.20/13h58). b) ROY'S SOCIAL CLUB raced without blinkers (advised 17.10.20/17h52). c) STAR CRUSADE was ridden by Jockey T Godden. Reserve runner (advised 18.10.20/7h38). d) STORY BOOK Jockey D Dillon weighed out at 58.7kg, 0.5kg over the carded weight of 58kg. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) Nil.
