This race was re-scheduled by the request of the Operator. The start of this Race was delayed due to the withdrawal of EASY TO PLEASE by the course Veterinary Surgeon. TALK WRENCH was slow losing two lengths. SEVEN TALES reared in stalls. At approximately the 1000m, in a tightly bunched field, SEVEN TALES was awkwardly placed between PONT DU GARD and RED SPECIAL which shifted in sharply. As a consequence of this, Jockey Herholdt, the rider of SEVEN TALES, had to ease for a number of strides, thereafter failed to negotiate the turn. Jockey Webber was charged with a contravention in that he as the rider of RED SPECIAL, failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to SEVEN TALES at the 1000m. Jockey Webber signed an Admission of Guilt and was suspended from riding in races for a period of seven days. Jockey Marwing reported that SEA BEAN raced with its tongue over the bit. ROQUEBRUNE was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. EASY TO PLEASE raced unshod in front and equipped with alumites behind. Vet: SEA BEAN - not striding out right front. SEVEN TALES - not striding out left front. Scratched: EMERALD MACKAY - deceased. CANNES - no suitable jockey available. EASY TO PLEASE - not striding out both front.
